iOS Call Screening Feature and Branded Calling

    In 2025, Apple released a new feature for iOS 26 called Call Screening. Call screening, when enabled, asks callers from unknown numbers who they are and why they are calling. It also has additional features, which allow users to automatically silence calls from unknown numbers. INFORM Branded Calling is compatible with the Call Screening feature; however, when Call Screening is enabled, the branding experience is different for the recipient.  

    How does Call Screening work?

    Call Screening has 3 settings: Never (default), Ask Reason for Calling, and Silence; the branding experience varies for each. 

    For “Never”, INFORM branding will display as normal during the delivery of the call and will appear in the call log after the call is delivered. 

    If "Ask Reason for Calling” is enabled, INFORM text-only branding will appear until the caller begins stating the reason for the call, During the transcription, the branding can stay the same or change depending on the caller’s response, and the results of the transcription can be found in the call log after the call.

    On iOS 26.1 and higher, INFORM with Logo will appear before the transcription begins and persist even during the live transcription.

    On iOS 26.0, INFORM with Logo is currently not compatible with the "Ask Reason for Calling” feature. If INFORM with Logo is sent to a device that has "Ask Reason for Calling” enabled, INFORM text-only branding will be delivered in lieu of the logo. You will only be billed for INFORM with Logo when logos are successfully delivered to the devices.

    When Call Screening is set to “Silence”, the call goes directly to voice mail, but branding (but not logo) then appears in the call log.

    Will iOS 26 Call Screening impact my calling programs? 

    Since Call Screening is off by default, most iPhone users will continue to see your branded calls with full display. Even when Call Screening is on, your business’s branded call display still appears. 

    Screened calls will appear as answered calls in disposition data of INFORM’s Analytics. By using the “without live voicemail” reporting view, calls answered by Call Screening will also be removed from this data.

    No action is required on your side and INFORM branding will continue to deliver value.
