Why is my block rate unusually high?

A higher block rate is not necessarily a sign that something is wrong with your SENTRY program. In many cases, it indicates that SENTRY is actively preventing more spoofed calls from reaching consumers using your protected phone numbers.

The block rate represents the percentage of calls that were blocked compared to the total number of calls processed through SENTRY. An increase may indicate a rise in spoofing activity targeting your business telephone numbers.

When evaluating block rates, focus on trends over time rather than any single reporting period. If you notice a sudden or unexpected spike in block rates, we recommend reviewing recent changes to your calling environment and consulting with your First Orion representative for additional analysis.
