There are two integration options available for SENTRY Call Blocking: REST API and SIP
Both integration methods deliver the same outcome. Your method of choice is simply based on your current calling platform(s) and what works best for your business. First Orion’s Integration Support is available to help you throughout the integration process.
NOTE: Our API and SIP integrations are designed to easily integrate, however, there may be additional requirements depending on your call initiation processes and platform configuration.
How SENTRY Call Blocking via REST API works:
1. The business sends calling data of the outbound call to First Orion via REST API.
2. Just before the call is initiated, First Orion creates a unique key identifying the pair of the calling party and the called party.
3. The business initiates the call.
4. The called-party's carrier requests verification from First Orion via an API.
5. If the call is verified by First Orion, the call will be delivered. If the call is not verified by First Orion, it will be blocked using SENTRY Call Blocking.
How SENTRY Call Blocking via SIP works:
1. The business initiates a call directing their SIP traffic to First Orion.
2. First Orion collects the calling data from the SIP INVITE.
3. First Orion redirects the calling platform to continue the call to the calling-party's carrier and sends the verified call to the called-party's carrier.
4. If the call is verified by First Orion, the call will be delivered to the called-party. If the call is not verified, it will be blocked using SENTRY Call Blocking.
Note: If the business is also using INFORM Branded Calling, the brand will be delivered for the verified call.
