What is a Calling Program?
A Calling Program in the Customer Portal allows users to dictate the way registered numbers are used. The steps to create a program are below:
STEP 1: Create
- Click Create a Program quick action card from the Business or Business Unit Dashboard
- Provide Business Unit Information (select an existing from the dropdown or create new by selecting the box below)
- Click Continue
- Provide Program Details
- Program Type
- Program Name
- Call Purpose
- Description
- Click Next Step
STEP 2: Program Schedule
- Click Display Name and select a Display Name value.
- If you do not see a Display Name value, you can opt to Create a custom display name.
- Enter a Display Name value and a Shorthand Display value.
| NOTE: Display Name and Shorthand Display MUST meet First Orion's Branding Policy. Custom display values will NOT brand until reviewed and approved. Expect a minimum 24-hour delay if Branding Policy is not met. |
- Use the calendar to schedule a Start Date & Time.
- Use the calendar to schedule an End Date &Time.
- Click Next Step.
| NOTE: INFORM with Logo programs will insert an additional step for IMAGE setup. Please select an image from your Image Gallery. Providing a Call Reason is optional. |
STEP 3: Phone Number
You have the option to manually type in Phone Numbers, or you can Upload a CSV File of phone numbers.
Manually Upload Phone Numbers
- Enter the Phone Number.
- Click Call Purpose and select Call Purpose type.
- Click Add Phone Number.
- Once all Phone Numbers have been added, click Launch.
Upload CSV File
To Upload CSV File your file will need:
- Two columns

No headers
- Column A: Phone Number
- Column B: Call Purpose
- Phone Numbers must include the Area Code
- CSV File Upload allows a maximum of 500 phone numbers per upload
The following are valid Call Purpose options:
- Charity
- Customer Service
- Debt Collection
- Informational/Notification
- Multi-Use Line
- Political
- Prison
- Survey
- Telemarketing
- Do Not Originate
| WARNING: Do Not Originate should only be selected if the number will not make outbound calls. |
- Select Upload CSV File
- Select a file to upload by:
- Choose from computer
- Drag and Drop
- Once all Phone Numbers have been added, click Launch.
